World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A  boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player can have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what will be improved after a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Utilizing the Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrade an item it is replaced by the new item. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that the item could be more expensive even if you do not need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as dolphins). This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The  item upgrade r allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs listed above.
